Motorcycle hit from behind 04-23-2012

This is the news story from my motorcycle accident I had on april 23rd. It was just after 2AM and I was on my way home from work. The freeway was slightly damp from on and off rain that we had that night. I was in the slow lane going about 55mph because it was 2AM and the road was wet. I look in my rear view mirror and see headlights coming up on me really fast and not slowing down. The next thing I know I am sliding from 55 to 0Mph on my back. I stood right up and went to the side of the freeway where I took off my helmet and started to get a grasp on what had just happend. The car that hit me kept going but 2 other cars stopped to check on me. I went to go move my bike out of the slow lane but thats when the hip pain revealed itself so I laid it back down and went to the side of the freeway again to call my girlfriend because the other people who had stopped were calling the accident in. So I'm talking on the phone and a car hits my bike knocking it a couple lanes over then they hit one of the people who had stopped to check on me. (the car with the kids in it) Then within the next 30 seconds another car hit my bike again and my bike burst into flames. It was like something out of a movie. About this time the chp and ambulance and firetruck were showing up and had the freeway shut down. The only other injury was the girl that hit my bike first hit her head on the steering wheel when she hit the stopped car. She was ok though. I was letting the paramedics check me out but planned on just going home when my girlfriend got there but when I realized it was really hard to stand up due to the pain I figured I would let the ambulance take me to the hospital after all. I was released the next day with some pain killers and a chip off of a vertebre that wouldnt cause any problem and some minor road rash that cleared up in about 4 days. I did however have some ongoing pain for a while and used a cane for about 3 weeks afterwards. I have since fully recovered. Will I get another bike? Yes but it won't be my only source of transportaion because I never liked having to ride at night and now I have a good reason to not like it. So yes I know how lucky I am and I am thankfull I did not get hurt more or even killed. I tell people if I had seen the accident and it wasn't my bike I would have been impressed because it was a real show to put it lightly.
