GATS Top 100 list, episode 90: Tyrian 2000 for PC. Also known as Tyrian 2K. Sometimes you just need to blow things up, like a lot. Pressing the fire key and never letting go is what the classic side scroller Tyrian 2000 is all about. You'll quickly find yourself taking out entire armadas worth of enemy ships, and laying waste to massive sprawling surface defenses that are desperately trying to blow you out of the sky. If you're in the market for a scrolling shooter game where you upgrade your ship to become progressively stronger, and even get to defeat a fruit worshipping cult, then look no further! :-D this might just be the only game with that combination. Despite being an old game, it's a game that still competes with modern scrolling shooter games, and despite it's slightly dated graphics, holds it's own due to a unique and appealing art style.
