In this video, I create a journal page, pocket, and journal card for my trauma art/junk journal. Its sole purpose is to bring me comfort and inspiration as I deal with my trauma. In this video, I explain the inspiration behind it, as well as show you the process of creating this "comfort page." The process making part of it is done at 400% speed while I narrate. This is mainly an art process video, but I do explain the reasoning behind some of my choices as well as the techniques I am using, so I hope it would be educational as well. I use the gelli plate, collage (mostly of my own artwork, hymm books, book pages, printables, and a printout of an old manuscript), watercolors, distress oxide inks and sprays, gloss sprays, stamps, stencils, modeling paste, ribbons, yarns, and buttons. My book page is very spiritual and faith- based, incorporating powerful symbolism related to restoration and rebuilding after trauma. My hope is that this art video will inspire you to create a page that will bring you comfort and that you will also include your own highly personal symbolism and meaning. You can find that devotional at the page below, as well as read more about the personal symbolism and backstop to the journal page and tag at my blog: http://creative-passages.com/2024/02/...
