In this video, I share an original poem in the Wakhi language (خیڕیک زیک / X̌ik Zik), a labor of love dedicated to preserving the voice of my ancestors. As an endangered language, Wakhi is a treasure of human culture, carrying the history, wisdom, and soul of the Pamiri people. Through this poetry, I strive to keep our linguistic heritage alive for future generations. About the Poem: This piece speaks to the timeless struggles of humanity the pain of oppression, the hunger of the poor, the silence of the complicit, and the ultimate price of standing up for what is right. It is a reflection on justice, faith, and the human condition. About the Wakhi Language & Pamiri People: Wakhi is an ancient Iranian language spoken by the Wakhi people, primarily in the high mountains of the Pamir region, Hindu Kush, and Karakoram. Our community is spread across four countries: 🗻 Tajikistan (Gorno-Badakhshan) 🗻 Pakistan (Gojal, Hunza, and Ishkoman valleys) 🗻 Afghanistan (Wakhan Corridor) 🗻 China (Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County) By listening and sharing, you are helping to amplify an endangered voice. May I not fully succeed in my efforts, but I will try my best to protect it. #WakhiLanguage #WakhiPoetry #Wakhi #EndangeredLanguages #SaveEndangeredLanguages #LinguisticDiversity #Pamiri #PamirMountains #Tajikistan #Afghanistan #Pakistan #China #GornoBadakhshan #Hunza #GojalValley #Wakhan #CulturalPreservation #IndigenousLanguages #IranianLanguages #MotherLanguage #LanguageRevitalization #WorldPoetry #HumanRights #SocialJustice #Revolution #PoetryCommunity #LanguageLovers #Linguistics #OralTradition #FolkPoetry #CentralAsia #MountainCulture
