Eurovision 2024 - My Top 37

My ranking of the 37 songs of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. Enjoy, and leave a comment. A not so good year overall, for my personal liking. If you're interested, you can see the reasons why below. Comments : 37 : It's not good. Europop is done multiple times, doesn't work anymore, specially on me. 36 : These kinds of songs, power ballads or however you want to call them, are definitely not for me. I can see this though doing respectably in the actual competition. 35 : Some kind of try to combine folk and something cute. I can see the appeal, but not for me. 34. It's not bad, as far as a ballad goes. Can't rate higher though. 33. Somekind of traditional vibe. I won't say it is good though, as an execution. 32. That was bad originally. Now it's less bad, in English. And I'm not convinced that she can sing that live. 31. That's still Laichzeit by Rammstein. With the tempo changed dumb lyrics added. 30. This is the neutral song of this year. It's...just there, nothing more, forgettable. 29. You could say the music is good, poppish and all, but that's about it. Dull and, again, forgettable. 28. I really can't decide where I want to put this song. Guy's definitely talented, and by the time the contest comes up and he sings it live, this might skyrocket to the top of my list. Props for the song though no matter what, not easy to combine all these styles. 27. Bad rock, and overall forgettable. Feels as if we've seen it again. 26. I liked that quite much the first times hearing it, but after some time, it just fell off, I couldn't much stand it. Something different at least. 25. It's powerful, and if this kind of music is your taste, I guess very good. I'm not much into it, so I can't go much higher. 24. One of the best voices this year. However, I can't much rate the song, feels quite slow for my liking. 23. Good, as far as eurovision pop goes. 22. She tries to bring up some energy, it feels as if I can't receive it though. Also, in my mind, this is going to go down like Austria in 2022, a song that I quite much liked, but was awful live on stage. Remains to be seen. 21. It's not good, it's not bad. Has some kind of easy going vibe though, which at least makes it easy to listen to. 20. This could easily win the eurovision. The junior one. This country has a history after all with that competition. I can't rate it higher on the main one though. 19. Nice vocals, in a calm song. Can't go higher obviously, but it's not bad at all. 18. I had this last, from when I first heard it. For whatever reason though it keeps growing on me. Still, I can't see it qualifying to the final. 17. That's a nice song, despite the position making it seem that it's not. Something that you could definitely even hear in a club, something that will end up quite high, and definitely, much more winning material than last year. 16. Again, one of the top vocals of this year, in a nicely made powerful ballad. Can go pretty high in the competition. 15. It's not the most exciting thing in the world, but at least, compared to other eurovision songs of this style, I don't wanna change the channel while this is playing. 14. It's obvious that they're trying to do something fun and hype. It doesn't work much, specially compared to their last entry, but at least I can have a laugh while hearing (and watching) this. 13. This is strong. I like it, without being able to comment much more on it. 12. It seems that this song isn't much liked, but I really feel that he has a quite strong voice, one of these performances that one person can fill up the stage by themselves. 11. This is gold. I'd love to see this going very well in the contest. 10. I guess my eastern blood was tingling much when I heard the vocals in this one. 9. I can't much say why, but I like this. I guess something, music or vocals, hit my sweet spot, and I had to place this high up. 8. Gets better every time I listen to it. It started from way down on my list, and it's already up to eighth. Who knows where it can be after the contest, specially with a strong live performance. 7. It's a really good song, both parts of it. But really we don't need another fake win. 6. Shame for copyrights. But a great ballad nonetheless, he has an incredible voice, and a very nice song. 5. If this had less "lei lei lei lei", there's quite the chance that it would be my number one. However, feels like half a song. A very good one, but half nonetheless. 4. Not fond of the "ta ta ta ta". Much fond of the music. Last two songs hit pretty much the same to me, which is good. 3. This is very good. This country is doing incredible steps on my tops in the past few years, from a country that I grew to expect not much of. 2. Yes, it's weird, and not for everyone. The vibes are great, the energy is great, the nonsence is amazing, there's nothing to dislike here. 1. One of the not so good winners for sure, but it's good, in a year where many songs aren't. And that's enough to place it first.
