COVID-19 Ventilator Update

The ambu bag ventilator has undergone many revisions and has been in efficacy and safety testing for the last few days. It has to pass a minimum set of tests before the University of Minnesota can release our final design files. Testing is going well and we expect to be shipping a limited number of pre-production units tomorrow. This video shows a more recent 3D model of the design and also answers the very common question of how this design compares to an ICU ventilator. Note that these units can not be built in significant quantity until the FDA grants a suitable Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). If and when they do, we will quickly be able to build several thousand of these. While these early units are being built, we will modify the design to use a simple DC gearmotor and controls (designed, but not sold by Teknic) that can be quickly sourced by the hundreds of thousands.
