join discord: / discord or in channel desc In this video, we talk about pins and how to connect structure in VEX IQ. ——————————————————————————————————————————— VEX IQ’s 2025–2026 game, Mix & Match, is played on a 6’ x 8’ rectangular field. In each 60-second Teamwork Challenge match, two robots collaborate to build and stack colorful Pins and Beams, aiming to place them in Goals for maximum points. Gameplay Objectives: • Connecting Pieces: Robots connect Pins (vertically) and Beams (horizontally) to build Stacks. • Stacking in Goals: Completed Stacks are moved into matching color Goals. • Color Variety: Bonus points are awarded for Stacks that contain multiple colors. Scoring System: • Connected Pins: 1 point each. • Connected Beams: 10 points each. • 2-Color Stack Bonus: 5 points. • 3-Color Stack Bonus: 15 points. • Stack Placed in Matching Goal and/or Connected to a Beam: 10-point bonus. • Stack Placed on the Standoff Goal: 10-point bonus. • Cleared Starting Pin: 2 points each. • Robot in Contact with Scoring Objects at Match End: 2 points per robot. Additional Rules: • Robot Skills Challenge: Teams also compete individually in Driving Skills Matches (driver-controlled) and Autonomous Coding Skills Matches (autonomous with limited human interaction). • Stack Requirements: Stacks must be free-standing and fully supported to count. • Strategic Play: Effective movement and organization of pieces are crucial to maximize color combinations and placement bonuses.
