Take a ride along the legendary Triumph Meriden test route, used by factory production testers from 1943 to 1969. This route was a critical part of Triumph’s quality control process, ensuring every motorcycle leaving the Meriden factory met the performance and reliability standards that made Triumph a global icon. The Meriden factory, located near Coventry, was the beating heart of British motorcycling for decades. During the post-war boom, Triumph motorcycles became synonymous with speed, style, and engineering excellence. Before a bike reached its new owner, it was ridden hard on this very route by skilled testers…men who knew every bend, hill, and straight like the back of their hand. Their job was simple but vital: push the machine to its limits and make sure it was ready for customers all over the world. I created this video to document this historic route and make more people aware of its significance. As someone who owns three original Meriden Triumphs and is absolutely obsessed with Triumph’s rich history, this project is close to my heart. Preserving these stories matters because they shaped the legacy of one of the most iconic motorcycle brands in the world. This video was filmed during our trip to England in May 2025, capturing the route from the front of a car for an authentic perspective of the roads once ridden by Triumph’s test riders.
