ICJ rules Israel’s Unrwa ban and restrictions on aid violate international law

The International Court of Justice ruled that Israel’s ban on Unrwa and its restrictions on aid to Gaza and the occupied West Bank violate international law. The court unanimously held that, as an occupying power, Israel has to ensure Palestinians have access to essential supplies necessary for everyday life. Speaking to Middle East Eye, Ammar Hijazi, Palestine’s ambassador to the Netherlands, said that it now falls on the international community to ensure Israel complies with international law and “not to allow it to continue with its genocidal tendencies, committing the crime of genocide, and colonisation of occupied Palestine.” Support stories that matter.
