Drawn from the timeless, enigmatic poetry of Kabir Das, this track is a powerful Qawwali performance rooted deeply in the mystery of the divine. It is performed in the spirit of masters like Fareed Ayaz Qawwal, renowned globally for their unique take on the traditional Sufi genre. Inspired by them, Mehfil-e-Sama'a attempts to capture the deep, wistful moment between midnight and sunrise, a liminal period beautifully encapsulated by the Latin word "Madrugada." The track contemplates the birth and inevitable end of time and age, watching from the perspective of the lover who knows that dawn is the hour of inescapable separation, as their beloved must awaken and resume the journey of enlightenment. Shot at Mehfil-e-Sama'a 's performance at Rajasthan Kabir Yatra 2025 at the beautiful village of Chattargarh, Bikaner, Rajasthan on 3rd October 2025. The Rajasthan Kabir Yatra (Oct 1-5, 2025) was organized by the Malang Foundation and the District Administration of Bikaner, along with several other partner organizations. It brought together singers from across Rajasthan and India for an immersive week of live music, workshops, and talks.
