What do you build a man who has a quite enviable collection (read fleet) of guitars from the best makers around the world? Clinton Cerejo came to us with a few specific requirements in mind. He needed a guitar that sounds great plugged and unplugged; a guitar that stood out on stage (and his current collection); and a guitar that was built around his brand. All in all, a perfect case study for a custom guitar. Making a guitar that sounded great unplugged wasn’t an issue- we went for a non-cutaway GA with a 50-year old bearclaw sitka spruce top, matched with some stunning figured acacia for back and sides. For a great plugged-in sound, we reached out to TranceAudio, who hand-built their signature Amulet Stereo System. As for the striking look, we did our signature hand-rubbed amber sunburst, and topped it off with some gloss finish. To help the aesthetics stand out, we went all out on top and fretboard marquetry using light green abalone. Branding the guitar was the biggest challenge. Clinton’s logo is split in to two halves, a white background with ‘Clinton’ on it, and a black background with ‘Cerejo’ on it. We went with a figured maple and ebony combo for the look. The ‘O’ in Cerejo is an image of a solar eclipse, so a little bit of mother-of-pearl helped it stand out. Continuing with the celestial theme, and to tie things together, we did a custom moon-phase rosette for Clinton. Overall, a pretty challenging but enthralling build! Hope she serves you for the many years to come, Clinton. 50-year old bearclaw sitka spruce top finished in hand-rubbed amber sunburst Figured acacia back and sides Figured Indian Ebony and maple fretboard; Figured ebony bridge and headstock overlay Ebony binding, light green abalone marquetry Custom moon-phase rosette TranceAudio Amulet Stereo System pickup Three-piece neck Gloss top, back and sides finish Order your custom guitar at - https://dehradunguitars.com/pages/con... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Song: Lady Of Rome, Sister Of Brazil (Al Di Meola) Performed by: Sayan Deb Sinha
