We're going to find out what your desires are, what your goals are. If you have crooked teeth, how best can we straighten those teeth. The option for straightening teeth is Invisalign, of course. Are they teeth that you don't want to go through Invisalign? Perhaps, they're a bit crooked, and we can straighten them out with veneers. In three weeks you could have straight teeth that are all white and beautiful all the way across. You can have one of the most dynamic smiles in your neighborhood. The other option is to get everything straight with Invisalign and then evaluate the teeth. After you whiten them, are they white enough? Are they pretty enough? Are they what you want them to look like? If not minimal-prep veneers, just veneer facings are all you need. Some beautiful, porcelain facings to finish off that case to be absolutely beautiful. One of the biggest questions that does come up in Smile Makeovers is, defined for me, doctor, please, what minimal prep is and I only want minimal prep on all of my teeth. I think everyone needs to understand that sometimes we have to take a little more tooth structure because there's maybe some bigger old fillings in there that need to be worked. We need to work around those, so minimal prep in my office is consistently minimal prep. Sometimes I do have to do a crown sometimes, I have to cover more of that tooth with porcelain to either, reposition that tooth or because of the breakdown of the tooth, I'll have to prepare more surface. Sometimes I'll prepare just .3 millimeters to .5 millimeters of tooth surface because I can get a really thin veneer on there. It may be that a couple of the teeth need crowns and maybe a couple of other teeth we can do minimal-prep veneers. It may be that there's a three-quarter prep that has to happen on another tooth.
