CoH: Halm is the dungeon synth one man project from Bern, Switzerland that spearheaded the introduction of this channel with the upload of its 96 minute opus "The Fall of Weirdblade" last year, so we're happy to finally present the predecessor to "The Fall.." as well, the 2020 album "The Emerald Disk of Eternity". TFoW's style of massive dungeon synth of cinematic proportions is already present and quite developed in The Emerald Disk of Eternity. Perhaps a quick way to offer a description of Halm's sound would be to imagine a combination of the more atmospheric and ambient side of rpg soundtracks like The Elder Scrolls games, with the bombastic power of the symphonic interludes of Bal Sagoth. Halm aims for grandiosity without putting the world "subtle" in the thrashcan. Just listen to the third track "Flame Belch! Or Blasting the Horrors of Dorgravin" that builds up with oppressing synths and tribal percussion into a climax that is almost industrial-like.
