Mark Hunt is one of the toughest fighters to ever step into a ring or octagon. This episode needs to come with a very strong warning. There is a lot of coarse language. Also, other themes which could be unsuitable for some: drugs, alcohol, gambling, violence, and extreme childhood trauma. None of this is done in a gratuitous way- Mark's life has been one of extreme highs and lows and he is a man who doesn’t shy away from any of it. I’ve included a list of helpful resources at the bottom of this page in case any of the content covered raises concerns for you or someone you care about. Some of the subjects we cover include his ongoing legal battle with UFC which stems from his staunch anti-doping stance. This is the hill that Mark Hunt will die on. This legal stuff has been consuming Mark's life recently and that becomes very clear during this podcast. Beyond that we talk about his future aspirations in philanthropy and business after he wins his lawsuit. His horrific childhood, forgiveness towards his abusive parents and breaking free from past traumas that shaped him Lessons from imprisonment as a young man. His reflections on dealing with various addictions. Lessons from therapy and much more. This is the first time Mark and I ever connected and I got a sense that Mark Hunt is just a man who had an extremely challenging start to life and is still at the age of 50 striving to be the best version of himself, which I think ultimately is what we all want out of life. My goal with all these discussions is to try and get a better understanding of a person and their choices through non-judgemental conversation. Thank you for listening and understanding. I try to do these podcasts in person because it allows for a much deeper and authentic conversation but that was not possible this time, so it was done remotely. Thanks for watching.
