This is a week-long hike of the North Circle in beautiful Glacier National Park, Montana. I hiked the North Circle 15 years ago and I wanted to hike it again, it's that good. The North Circle is a 97 km / 60 mile loop trail through some of Glacier National Park’s most spectacular landscapes. We started from the town of Waterton in adjoining Waterton Lakes National Park (Alberta) and hiked in to Kootenai Lake for our first night. From there, we did a counter-clockwise loop (clockwise in 2009) through Fifty Mountain and Granite Park, then enjoyed a night in the auto campground at Many Glacier with a couple of nice meals in Nell’s Restaurant at the nearby Swiftcurrent Inn, and then continued up through the incredible Ptarmigan Tunnel to Elizabeth Lake (Foot) and Glenns Lake (Head) before returning to Kootenai Lake via Stoney Indian Pass, and then hiked back to Goat Haunt and finished with a boat ride back to Waterton. This week I'm joined by my buddy John, Stuart Howe, and his buddy Scott. Hike along with us as we enjoy spectacular scenery and some of the most amazing views you’ll see anywhere! 0:00 Intro 0:41 Day 1: Waterton – Kootenai Lake 3:00 Day 2: Kootenai Lake – Fifty Mountain 7:01 Day 3: Fifty Mountain – Granite Park 9:17 Day 4: Granite Park – Many Glacier 15:48 Day 5: Many Glacier – Elizabeth Lake (Foot) 23:50 The Joke 27:03 Day 6: Elizabeth Lake – Glenns Lake (Head) 35:05 Day 7: Glenns Lake – Kootenai Lake 42:12 Day 8: Kootenai Lake – Waterton 43:58 Epilogue 45:17 Out-takes Music: “Wild Soul” by Reveille, licensed through Soundstripe QEK7OHIXIXYKKUDL Enjoy Stuart’s “long format” version of our hike on his YouTube channel … @HowestheHike
