A Spectacular Country Hike | Burrough Hill Iron Age Hill Fort | Somerby 10th Battalion | Arnhem What a hike! This hike begins in Somerby, the former residence of the 10th Battalion Parachute Regiment who fought at Arnhem on the second day of Operation Market Garden during WW2. It the follows the Leicestershire Round and the Jubilee Way through awesome woodland. Eventually the hike reaches the Iron Age Hill Fort at Burrough Hill which is fantastic to see! It is not hard to imagine the village of roundhouses and the hustle and bustle that would have been evident. From the hill fort the route then leads to the village of Burrough on the Hill and then eventually to the starting point at Somerby. It was a 10/10 walk, even though the weather wasn't perfect. The only tricky bit was leaving the hill fort where the paths were very muddy!
