Chris Darril’s work has always fascinated me. From the haunting brilliance of Remothered: Tormented Fathers to the flawed, but ambitious Broken Porcelain. His games have a distinct identity: unsettling, emotional, and filled with a kind of old-school passion you rarely see anymore. In this video, I take a look back at Darril’s journey. His early concepts, the rise and fall of the Remothered trilogy, and how all of it has led to his next big step: Bye Sweet Carole. Releasing on October 9, 2025, Bye Sweet Carole looks like everything Darril has been building toward...a dark, hand-drawn fairytale that blends classic animation with horror in a way only he could pull off. This video is part retrospective, part love letter, and part celebration of a creator who continues to take risks and inspire through both his successes and his stumbles.
