Aisling Pigott shines a light on diet culture which disguises itself as 'clean' but continues to harm us. She explores how our attitudes toward weight, shape, and size can impact on physical and mental health. She asks that we return to intuitive eating, listening to what our bodies need and not what is sold to us through a culture focussed on 'quick fix' diets. Aisling focuses on how adults, healthcare professionals and parents need to model and teach healthy relationships with food and body to improve the health of the future generation. Trigger warning: this talk contains themes of eating disorders and chronic illness Aisling Pigott is a Registered Dietitian and PhD Student (RCBC /Health Care Research Wales funded) at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
