Great interview with one of Hollywood's great actors. Charlton Heston has done it all, stage, tv and screen. He reflects on his early time at Paramount Studios and his now famous wave to the director Cecil B. Demille which paved the way for him to star in two films for the director which ulimately made him famous. He recalls working with directors William Wyler, George Stevens and the changing nature of Hollywood in terms of the contract system and independent films. Moreover he recalls working with Orson Welles and how he learnt a great deal from him. He reveals why Orson Welles was unable to endear himself to the money men in order to get funding for his films and was shunned by Hollywood. Chuck, as he was known to his friends, found the transition from stage to tv to screen with ease and was discovered by Hal Wallis, film producer, who gave him a film contract and as they say, the rest is history. This is an edited version of the interview with some film music from his films. See below for full interview, please leave comments if you so wish. https://www.bbc.co.uk/archive/charlto...
