Stanza 1 O Lord, give ear to my words today, Consider my groaning as I pray. Give attention to the sound of my cry, My King and my God, on You I rely. Stanza 2 For You are not a God who loves sin, Evil may not dwell where You begin. The boastful shall not stand in Your view, You hate all evildoers through and through. Stanza 3 You destroy those who speak only lies, The bloodthirsty man Your soul denies. The LORD abhors the deceitful one, Who sheds the blood when all is said and done. Stanza 4 But I, through Your steadfast love so true, Will enter Your house to worship You. I bow down toward Your temple fair, In fear of You I lift my prayer.
