The ZGMF-X09A was developed through the combined efforts and technologies of all three ZAFT forces, under the supervision of PATRICK ZALA. It was the sister unit of the ZGMF-X10A FREEDOM GUNDAM, powered by a nuclear reactor and equipped with the Neutron Jammer Canceller. The nuclear power supply increased endurance and stabilized the PS armor operation, and above all, enabled greater firepower in weapons. This was a very useful function for ZAFT, which had to compensate their lack of quantity with the "quality" of its weapons.
