Ride along another segment of the North Coast Inland Trail as we bike approximately five miles from Monroeville to Norwalk, Ohio. This scenic rail-trail segment follows the former Toledo, Norwalk, and Cleveland Railroad corridor through Huron County and is supported by the Firelands Rails-to-Trails organization. The trail features a mostly flat, crushed-stone surface, wooded sections, open farmland, and a crossing of the Huron River on a historic double-arch railroad bridge built in 1853. Along the way, we explore local history, including Monroeville’s restored railroad depot, Norwalk’s role in the Firelands region, and landmarks such as the Huron County Courthouse, completed in 1819. The North Coast Inland Trail is planned to eventually span the state of Ohio from Indiana to Pennsylvania, offering a unique way to experience Ohio’s history, small towns, and landscapes by bike. 📍 Route: Monroeville to Norwalk, Ohio 🚴 Distance: ~5 miles 🛤️ Surface: Crushed stone rail trail Thanks for riding along—don’t forget to like, subscribe, and join us on the next destination!
