On June 1st 1757, a birthday concert allegedly took place in the gardens of the manor house of Count Alexei Bestuzhev-Ryumin the Grand Chancellor of Russia at the time. The concert took place next to the Count's favorite pond, in which both swans and geese froliced, surrounded by lily pads and ducks. Count Alexei supposedly dared Count St Germain to play music even his waterfowl could not resist. Witnesses describe a miraculous event that took place in which St Germain played music so sweet, the geese and swans began to sing with the melody. Scholars dismissed the concert as fiction until a cache of paintings and St Germain's rare music score was discovered. in the Parisian walls of painter Jean Louis Tocqué, a friend of Count Alexi. Jean Louis Tocqué had lived in an apartment within the Louvre Palace in Paris and hidden many a portrait and the St Germain score by slicing through the plaster of the east wall.Construction crews discovered the cache in 1983, allegedly.
