The A-G Requirements: Explained!

We hope that this isn’t your first time seeing/hearing this list! A high school student wanting to go to a university in the CSU or UC system must fulfill specific courses in high school that meet the minimum admission requirements. Those course requirements are all arranged in specific categories, from A-G - thus the term, A-G requirements.  The A-G requirements include 7 core subject categories with many class options available through each. Students must take the required number of courses for each category and pass them with a C or better for it to count.
