We’re taking fabrication to the next level by building an oven out of a $200 BBQ to heat and drape-form our Lexan and Plexiglass windshield. We're going to do both to see which one turns out the best. Since this windshield is bigger than the last one we built, we had to modify our original BBQ oven to make it large enough for the new buck. Colton is on BBQ duty, getting everything set up with tinfoil-lined plywood while Bad Chad finalizes the metal buck by building the internal metal skeleton. This part is critical—when we release all the welds that are currently holding the metal windshield in place, the skeleton has to maintain its exact shape. If it shifts or warps, the final windshield won’t fit properly. This step is all about precision and patience.
