With the new expansion in the Tarkir set soon to be released, one of the most ancient of dragons will be making his return. Ugin was a key factor in the lore of Zendikar in the imprisonment of the Eldrazi. The Eye of Ugin is a classic card from this series that was the means for their imprisonment yet also the card became means for their escape and entry into the battlefield. Anyone who used the Eldrazi mechanics know how pivotal this card was to their decks and it's lore makes a great cocktail as well. The basis of this cocktail tells the story of how the Eldrazi were released once again upon Zendikar. The shot itself is designed after the 3 Planeswalkers that were the ones to break the seal. The Blue Curacao symbolizes the blue mana source from Jace Beleran, the Fireball Whiskey symbolizes the fire spells from Chandra Nalaar and the Byejoe Dragonfire symbolizes the control over drangons from Sarkhan Vol. The 3 Planeswalkers come together per the lore and bring the Breath of Ugin as symbolized by the Sprite and enter the Eye of Ugin as symbolized by the Viniq Shimmery Liqueur. Once this transpires, the Eldrazi are awakened and unleash their attack, in this case upon you as you drink the shot. In regards to flavor you'll experience a well ballanced mix of spices, sweet fruity flavor notes and a bit of burn leading to a very enjoyable shot that you're sure to enjoy. Recipe: PLANESWALKER SHOT: 1 Part Blue Curacao 1 Part Fireball Whiskey 1 Part Byejoe Dragonfire EYE OF UGIN CHASER: 1 oz. Viniq Shimmery Liqueur 8 oz. Sprite Preparation: Begin by first adding the Blue Curacao and Fireball Whiskey to a shot glass the layer the Byejoe Dragonfire on top and set aside. Next add the Viniq Liqueur to a pint glass and fill the rest with the Sprite. Drop the shot glass into the pint glass and chug.
