This is the true, mysterious story behind the A3 Ghost crash. Recently, the story has been picking up some attention but many of the details are left unclear, so I'm hoping this video will help give some more context to the A3 ghost crash Burpham story. On the evening of December the 11th, 2002, Surrey Police were inundated with emergency phone calls. Several people across multiple cars had just witnessed a serious crash, around the area of Burpham, Guildford The 999 callers naturally described the crash they had just seen unfold over the phone. They said they had just seen a car lose traction, speeding off the side of the road, just meters short of an emergency slip road, which connects the A3 to Burpham, and vice versa. emergency responders rushed to the scene, knowing there was a strong possibility that the fate of the driver, and any potential occupants, was at stake. After arriving though, it became clear that this wasn’t just a normal emergency run. taking a look just short of the slip road, there weren’t any obvious tyre marks, which a majority of car wrecks tend to have, but nevertheless they stopped on the side of the road to inspect closer. After pulling over, the police, who were first to arrive, got out and checked closer for any signs of a wreckage in the area the witnesses described, 10 metres short of the slip road. They couldn’t find anything. Nothing indicated a car had crashed in the area. It wasn’t until the Police broadened their search, looking in the immediate area that they were able to find anything, 20 metres away from the supposed crash site. Buried in the thick undergrowth, with it’s nose buried in the sizeable ditch, was a badly damaged red/maroon Vauxhall Astra. It wasn’t what they were expecting though. The Vauxhall was wrecked, and the front of the car was deep in a ditch. Due to the foliage, the ditch itself wasn’t clearly visible to the thousands of drivers who frequented the A3 every day, meaning no passers by would have noticed the car being there. The reason this is important is because it’s the only possible way to explain what they uncovered next. It quickly became clear to the attending police that the car wreck they’d just discovered wasn’t a recent occurrence, because near the wreckage lay the several month old remains of the driver.
