Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne | A Genre-Defining Classic

Shin Megami Tensei 3 Nocturne left a profound effect on me. The HD remaster released when I was exhausted from Atlus RPGs. Like many of you, probably, Persona was my introduction to Megami Tensei until Nocturne was announced. While the game didn't immediately hook me like Persona 5 did, I kept playing largely because of the combat, world, music, overall atmosphere, and tone. As each character became more intimate with their reason as the game reached its climax, I was impressed with the narrative and thematic discussion Nocturne had in parallel with its excellent overall game design. Nocturne moved me to the point that I wanted to discuss it with other people. This would prove difficult as Nocturne was a niche ps2 JRPG released 20 years ago. With all that said ... who cares, here are my thoughts on Nocturne! I sincerely believe this game is a genre-defining classic with DNA you can still feel in Atlus' "modern" SMT games.
