The vehicle is a 1997 K1500. This engine had a serious intake manifold failure, causing gallons of coolant to go into the lifter valley. Gasket failed where the coolant crossover is located (driver side if I remember). I lost heat and then the engine started stumbling in the 2 miles I needed to drive to the nearest parking lot. Head gasket probably was not required, but I wanted to clean all of the carbon out anyway.
