Both of these speaker systems are great for different reasons. In my opinion, these are those. Logitech z623: Pros: tight bass, and loud. Good build quality. controls easy to use and access. Cons: Bulky subwoofer looks best placed under a desk, which leads to another issue, short wires. Harman-Kardon soundsticks III: Pros: Good sound for most, but not all users. the subwoofer is not just a big box, and is presentable on a desk. The wires are long, allowing for speakers to be placed far apart, and farther from the wall outlet. Cons: although sound is good, the bass is less accurate and tight than the logitechs. Build quality not that great. easily damaged. bass and power controls are hard to get to. The master volume controls are touch sensitive and do not press, so the volume will be different if someone touches the speaker in the wrong place.
