Ukrainian 425th Brigade have released new footage illustrating the growing dominance of drone warfare on the battlefield, showing a Russian assault soldier’s failed attempt to evade a Ukrainian FPV kamikaze drone by hiding in a village outhouse. The video was published by fighters of the “Black Arrow” unmanned systems battalion, a unit operating within Ukraine’s 5th Separate Heavy Mechanised Brigade. According to the battalion, the incident occurred during active combat operations in a frontline settlement, where Ukrainian drone operators were conducting aerial surveillance and strike missions against Russian infantry. The footage begins with the FPV drone approaching the area at low altitude. The Russian soldier, identified by Ukrainian sources as part of an assault or “stormtrooper” unit, appears to notice the drone circling overhead. Recognizing the imminent threat, he abandons his position and runs through the village in an apparent attempt to escape detection. With limited options and under pressure, the soldier makes a desperate decision: he enters a small rural outdoor toilet, a common structure in village yards, apparently hoping that the drone operator would lose sight of him or be unwilling to strike such a confined space.
