The Dihanam Competition was held on the day of Tirubhav tithi (11-9-18) of Sri Sri Sankardeva. Sankardeva is known as Greatman ( Mahapurush) in Assamese society. He was all rounder and considered as a Social Reformer of 15th and 16th century Assam. He was one of the great contributors to the Assamese culture and civilisation. From the Historical point of view Xankardeb was not only a Dharma Guru, but he was Symbol of Renaissance of Assam. Sankardeva was a creator of Performing Arts. The creation of Chihnayatra Bhawna is older than the creation of Leonardo-da-Vinci. It is proud of Assam. The Religious (Vaishnab) Literature, Satra, Satriya Music and Culture, Musical instrument all are created by Xankardeb. After all he was a master planner of Assamese society. Sankardeva was a great leader of New Vaishnavite Movement of North East India. The Vaishnavism of Assam was introducing by Srimanta Sankardeva. One of the great contribution of Xankardeb is Naamghar to the Assamese society. And his another great contribution is Kirtan puthi. But all of the great work of Sankardeva was sponsored by the great Koch king Maharaja Naranarayan. Sankardev’s Bhuyan rajya was captured by Ahom Swargadeu Chuhungmung. Dihanam is Harikotha and advices of Sankardeva . In this video I show you the talent of the students of North Lakhimpur college (Autonomous), Assam, North East India. It is part 1.
