Lipa was once the richest town in the Philippines and one of the major supplier of coffee in the world through Lipa ancestors' hardwork in propagating the coffee industry in latter part of 1800s. At present, biggest coffee production has been overtaken by other provinces in the North and South of the Philippines. Good thing is that coffee industry in Lipa is still alive and if given extensive support and attention can bring back the old glorious days of Lipa in coffee industry. Kapeng Barako is proudly from Lipa and should be given a consistent & grand celebration in the city.
