Hello everyone!!! Today, I bring you a special episode about the history of Romanian tourism. Hotel Lotru, located in the Voineasa resort in Vâlcea County, was once a symbol of Romanian tourism, offering accommodation for around 200 people. During the communist era, Voineasa was considered a 'pearl of Romanian tourism,' attracting thousands of tourists annually. After 1989, the resort experienced a sharp decline, with most accommodation units being closed or abandoned. Hotel Lotru, managed by the National Syndical Bloc (BNS), remained operational for a long time but was closed in November 2023 due to financial losses and a lack of tourists. This closure marked the end of an era for Voineasa, leaving the resort in a state of decay and abandonment.
