Today's video is an update on some of the exotic plants I grow in my tropical style jungle garden which are unfortunately looking rough after numerous winter freezes! I show the Musa basjoo following the extended cold spells and hard frosts, the winter damage to the various evergreen exotic Euphorbia shrubs I grow and also the brown fronds on my Dicksonia antartica tree ferns. A little taste of reality following a colder than average winter but all is not completely lost and I look at the spring care tips I’ll be using to hopefully give these tropical style plants the best start this spring. It’s interesting to see how well Euphorbia characias subsp. Wulfenii, myrsinites and ‘John Phillips’ have coped with the cold compared to mellifera so there’s maybe some plant suggestions there if you’re looking to create a tough and evergreen exotic display in your garden going forwards. 0:00 Intro 0:37 Musa basjoo banana plant winter damage & spring care tips 2:37 Euphorbia characias subsp.
