KILIFI WOMEN TAKE TO STREETS IN SUPPORT OF AISHA JUMWA By David Shariff. Different groups comprised of Kilifi mums, Sauti ya Wanawake Kilifi and Kili dads today took to the streets of KILIFI town to express their support of expelled Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa saying that was meant to intimidate the leader. The groups spread a peaceful message of unity among Kilifi leaders and locals saying National politics should not be used as a tool to divide leaders. They walked across Kibaoni upto Mkwajuni grounds in solidarity with their woman leader who was early this week expelled by KNEC governing council of Orange Democratic Movement ODM. Jumwa who has had a series of cases against her alleged support for Jubilee party was removed from ODM together with her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori. Speaking to the press at Mkwajuni grounds, Kibibi Ali chairlady for Kilifi Mums group said, they were diverstated by ODM party actions and even pointed a blaming finger to deputy party leader Ali Hassan Joho. Kibibi said Joho was well aware of the humiliations Jumwa was under going and pointed that the Mombasa governor was behind it all. The woman leader warned the Mombasa governor to keep off from Kilifi politics and urged him to concentrate with his county affairs instead. The bitter women said, Jumwa was among their econy leaders from the region and they were not going to tolerate parties or even individuals aiming at turnishing or bringing her down. Salama Samson from the Voice of Women alias Sauti ya Wanawake Kilifi said, some women in Kilifi have turned to be slaves of other politicians in accusing and pointing fingers to their own self made leaders. Ms Samson said that it was very sad to see people from Malindi denying their own leader and aim to impress some politicians who are coming out of their region. She said was diverstated by one woman group leader from Malindi who loudly accused Jumwa of misconduct within the party. Ms Samson however urged the locals to be united and fight their common enemy instead. Kilifi dads representative Birya Menza who was also present during the procession urged Kilifi people to join together and forge ahead and avoid divisive politics of party. ENDS
