A compilation of Global's local evening news programs across Canada. Global News's brand identity was recently updated, bringing along new graphics and music that replaced the previous package which has been in use since 2016 (although heavily based on the package from 2013). The new graphics feature a flat design and an interesting choice of fonts. A serif font, which is uncommon in modern graphics packages, is utilized for main text, while Roboto is used for sub text. The music is faster paced. There are two versions of the main theme, which stations seem to use interchangably, although I think the lighter theme is supposed to be used for morning news programs. Overall, I am enjoying this long overdue refresh, although I think there are some areas that could use some tweaking. Something strange to note, it appears there are two different versions of the opening title sequence. A shorter version, which you can see in Global BC's opening, and a longer version, which you see in Global Edmonton's opening. I'm curious as to why there are two different versions.
