A Sky Full Of Stars (Extended Version inspired by the Avicii Edit) | Avicii Tribute

This is my contribution to celebrate the 7th anniversary of a sky full of stars, which was released the second of may in 2014. It's something I have worked on for a long time without publishing. The first time I tried to extend this song was over a year ago, but a lot has happened since. Back then I used the "extended version" of a sky full of stars, but I understood pretty quickly that there was nothing to gain from it. This is not an accurate remake of the Avicii Edit, partly because it wasn't truly finished and can't be used as reference, and that I wanted to do my own version of it. But I used it as inspiration and took a lot of things from it, but remade those things with sounds from the released version which has a totally different mastering and a slightly lower tempo. I also used a few samples from other Avicii songs. Unlike the Avicii Edit, I have extended both the first and the second drop. And none of them are exactly like they are in that version. I also made some of my standard fixes, which I'd say they are at this point. I sidechained the bass more so it is fits better with the kick, and I added some sub bass one octave lower than the original. This was originally supposed to be my Avicii tribute for 2021-04-20 but it was delayed due to copyright reasons. I was extremely lucky to have the songs anniversary so close in time that this edit still could be uploaded on an important day.
