Time to Rate A Record! How would you have rated these 2 songs between a score of 35 and 98? Neither of them charted but both looked like they had potential. The Druids didn’t do much after this. The Critters would have success later this year with their #17 hit “Mr. Dieingly Sad”. Jackie DeShannon (who Dick mentions wrote “Children and Flowers”), was already famous for her 1965 #7 hit, “What the World Needs Now Is Love” but wouldn’t have her next big song until 1969 with her #4 hit, “Put A Little Love In Your Heart”. AB Regulars Spotted in this clip: The “Raters” today are Melody McMurray and Sam Tagliavore. Dancing - Jeff Hight (I Fought the Law Spotlight Dance and Swing Dance Contest), Danny McClane, Frank Vanderpuil, and Theodosia Dayton. …..And at the end, Dick shows the prize for rating the records to be a Batman T-shirt (kind of a rip-off compared to the usual Ross electronics radio/record player prize). He was, no doubt, promoting the brand new “Batman” TV series, that premiered on ABC just 4 weeks earlier. In the “Batman” season 2 premiere on Sept 7, 1966, titled “Shoot A Crooked Arrow”, Dick Clark makes a pretty funny cameo. Watch it here: • Dick Clark on Batman Airdate: Feb. 5, 1966
