"Type56-B "Torchmaw" is a rough-edged bullpup conversion of the classic 7.62x39 rifle, chopped down to thrive in the Zone's swampy choke points. Its weight sits close to the shoulder, giving tight handling in reeds and murky walkways where a long rifle would snag on every branch. The kit adds a sealed handguard, short rail segment, and reinforced internals to keep grime out-nothing fancy, but it hits hard and stays firing when things get nasty. Only a handful of Renegades carry "Torchmaws". Whispers say the bullpup kits came from a disgraced Duty deserter who sought to disappear. As an unattached stalker he wouldn't last a week, so he bought protection by paying a "join fee" in gear and as new Renegade gunsmith. The Renegades wellcome him, built their "Torchmaws", and buried the past along with his old colors."
