Ever since childhood, many of us have heard the notion of "being yourself." As we grow and enter the workplace, we become masters of manipulating how we show up whether that is through mimicry, telling people what they want to hear or even engaging in facade creation, confirming to values that we don't believe in, wearing "the mask." Leadership consultant, researcher, and rebel against the status quo, Kevin Sansberry's talk centers on investigating the research and factors involving why many spend their lives wearing masking with hopes to evoke a journey of introspection, reflection and perspective shifting. Kevin Sansberry, II is a leadership consultant, researcher and nonprofit executive. He is a rebel against the status-quo, a seeker of justice who strives to lift underrepresented voices by combining experience in organizational development/effectiveness with research expertise in destructive leadership, organizational culture and coping to provide solutions informed by best practices balanced by cutting edge research. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
