5lb Koa sledge with turks head knot and filed handle

This old hammer head has been floating around for a while now, time to give it a handle. Didn't come out anything like I was planning in the beginning but that's the fun part :) I am still using up scrap koa wood I found outside of a Hawaiian furniture makers shop. I needed to fill the voids for whatever jointery he was using so I inlaid with yellow, red, and purple heart hardwoods. I wanted to be able to use this hammer and not worry about damaging the handle so I welded on some steel bumpers in case I miss a swing. Since I am planning on using this I also put a semi gloss poly on it as opposed to a full gloss.
