Trinidad M. Maintenance Technician I like the job. I like our boss, Roger. I feel like everybody here works pretty good together. Everybody here is pretty close, and everybody has been here a long time. You don’t usually see too many people come and go. There are usually two of us per shift, though. We work together all the time. (After 6 years in Receiving, Trinidad applied for a Maintenance position.) One of the maintenance guys told me I should go for it, I applied, I interviewed for it, Roger liked how I interviewed, and so then Roger gave me a shot. Just knowing how to weld even just a little bit, and an electrical background would be really good. But, uh, troubleshooting mostly. If you can troubleshoot pretty good, then you’ll be alright. Hopefully, you have some experience, and if you don’t they pretty much train you. It is rewarding to work at Hiland. They are a big part of the community now that they’ve come to Tyler. They do a lot for the community and all that. I think that’s pretty cool. Yeah, It’s a good place to work.
