The Blind Muse Foundation is proud to sponsor: The Vision Beyond Sight Players, a talented group that has created an impactful play titled "Do the Proper Thing, Please Ask, Do Not Assume," which is based on simple tips to have comfortable interactions with blind and visually impaired individuals. This production provides Simple Tips for Comfortable Interactions when Engaging with Blind and Visually Impaired Individuals, encouraging open dialogue about accessibility in a safe, engaging format. By partnering with local community centers and assisted living facilities, we bring this discussion directly to senior audiences, helping them navigate vision loss while fostering empathy and understanding. The play, professionally recorded as a 40-minute video, highlights the everyday experiences, challenges, and triumphs of individuals living with blindness or visual impairment. Designed to foster understanding, inclusion, and community dialogue. Followed by an open discussion encouraging questions. This community event offers: 1. Education: The video provides insights into the lived experiences of blind and visually impaired individuals, dispelling common misconceptions and increasing awareness. 2. Support: The group also serves as a valuable resource for individuals who are currently experiencing or may face vision loss in the future. By sharing their personal experiences and practical tools, the group can offer guidance, hope, and encouragement for those navigating this journey. 3. Empowerment: Attendees will gain knowledge about how to interact with and support blind individuals with respect and confidence. 4. Inclusion: The event opens a dialogue about accessibility and encourages the community to embrace diversity and advocate for inclusion.
