After the liberation of the concentration camps, the full extent of Nazi horrors were finally exposed to the world and people demanded justice for the unspeakable atrocities committed during the World War 2. Millions of lives were lost in death camps and the Holocaust survivors who had witnessed and experienced the Nazi barbarism first hand, wanted those who were responsible, to pay for their crimes and brutality. There were some rare examples of SS guards who did not flee from the approaching allied armies but took care of the sick prisoners and delivered food and medicine instead. After the liberation, those sick prisoners rose up and spoke on those kind guards behalf and saved their lives. However, there were guards who were cruel and merciless until the very end and people’s courts were created to try them.
