The YETI Special Projects Department are responsible for some of the most iconic mountain bikes in YETI's history and every 5 years they work with the best brands in mountain biking to create icons, the 40th anniversary ASR is far from just a cool, retro paint job.. it is the most customised mountain bike we have ever built in our workshop, nothing is standard, everything is exceptional! For suspension duties, it's a full FOX Factory affair with the 34 upfront with a slightly extended 130mm of travel compared with the standard model, alongside this it has a totally custom paint scheme to match the frame alongside featuring custom anodised caps/dials, paired up with a Float SL rear shock with custom decals and lever. Rounded out with the incredible Transfer NEO fully wireless dropper post, the BEST seatpost on the market! Drivetrain is taken care of by SRAM's XX T-Type AXS, with their fully wireless rear derailleur providing a huge range of gears paired up with the XX carbon fibre crankset and both featuring custom anodised cage, bolts and finishing hardware. In the cockpit we've got a custom Chris King headset, paired up with a polished 40th anniversary stem, carbon fibre YETI handlebars, SRAM's MOTIVE brakes with carbon fibre levers and this already epic cockpit is finished off with YETI's very own ICONIC grips.. made using the exact same moulds that the originals were formed in, it doesn't get much better than that! DT Swiss have taken things to the next level with this wheelset, not only is it one of the best XC carbon fibre wheel sets available but it features custom anodised hubs, spokes and nipples which are all paired up with the unique carbon fibre rims and finished off with a set of Maxxis Forekaster tyres.. which as you guessed it, have been customised with turquoise logos to match the rest of the bike! Finishing touches include the WTB 40th anniversary saddle, Chris King seat clamp and Robert Axle Project/Chris King customised thru axles.
