Buy it on Amazon - http://lon.tv/culol (affiliate link) Those looking for a less expensive alternative to a Thunderbolt docking station may want to take a look at this product from Highpoint called the Rocketstor 5411D. It connects to Macs and PCs with an included USB 3.0 cable. Like a Thunderolt dock it offers port expansion, taking a single USB 3 connection and providing gigabit ethernet, audio in and out, a three port USB 3.0 hub, a SD card reader, and a hard drive dock at the top. Performance is a little better than I've seen in some of the Thunderbolt docks, although the ethernet performance on Windows was about 220 megabits per second slower than it was on my Mac. The Mac scored approximately 860 megabits per second, while Windows came in at about 640. Overall this is a great Thunderbolt alternative that performs as well on most components and costs less. Definitely something for Windows users to consider.
