Antique Pruning Saw Restoration:- This saw restoration was very challenging because I tried to keep as much of it as possible. The saw belongs to my father-in-law, and he says he has memories of this saw from the 60's . As you can see, the saw is in a very bad condition. The blade is very rusty and has deep holes and the handle is simply destroyed. In this restoration I will show you how to restore the blade , no matter how destroyed it is and also how to make a new handle. So I started the restoration. I disassembled the handle from the blade, I cleaned the dirt before blasting it, after which I sandblasted the blade. For a deep cleaning I did an electrolysis of the blade. In this restoration process, the blade needed some repairs. I had to restore his teeth, I had to remove his sharp and irregular edges, I had to repair the holes through which the new rivets will enter. The blade had deep pits, for this reason I could not sand it and bring it to a smooth and glossy shape. And so that the blade would not be exposed to rust quickly, I decided to apply a bluing solution. I already restored an axe a year ago and I wasn't going to make another video about restoring another axe but the incredible work of a friend inspired me to create a handle for this axe very, very special. So I started the restoration by disassembling the old handle. after inspecting the ax's head I decided to sandblasting it and electrolysis to remove any traces of rust. Restoration continued by repairing the hammered poll, made a new bevel and after that I applied a layer of bluing solution, for anti rusting. So, I saw this toy by chance on EBay, I noticed that it costs a lot and I wondered why: the answer I found is that there are few toys like this for sale. So,I negotiated with the seller from $99 to $65, he liked the idea of restoring it, so he sent it to me. The toy came to me, I inspected it and deduced that it needed many original parts to restore it professionally. Some parts cost a lot of money, others I was able to creating like the original ones. I felt that by investing a lot of money in this restoration project, I have to offer you a plus of quality and also to move to a new level of restoration. So I decided to paint with powder (powder coating) , although I have never done it before in my life. This happened somewhere in the middle of the video and after many attempts and tests, I saw the results : they were amazing.
