So this week we're excited to be exploring Dublin and we're planning to spend an entire week as we'll highlight 25 things to do around the city in this travel guide. Dublin is where most trips in Ireland begin, so before seeing the rest of the country, Audrey and I spent a whole week getting to know the capital. When the weather cooperated we walked around the city, toured Trinity College, and visited the botanical gardens, and when it poured rain as it often does in this part of the world, we just popped into a pub for some Irish stew and a pint of Guinness. We dedicated a full week to soaking up Dublin’s history, culture, and culinary scene—exploring on foot when the sun shone and ducking into cozy pubs for Irish stew and Guinness when the rain came down. Below you’ll discover 25 unmissable things to do in Dublin, from historic sites to hidden gems, traditional food to buzzing nightlife. 🏛️ Trinity College & The Book of Kells Our first stop was Trinity College, the oldest university in Ireland, founded in 1592. We joined a campus tour, explored the storied grounds, and marveled at the historic Book of Kells in the grand library. Trinity’s alumni include literary legends like Oscar Wilde, Jonathan Swift, and Bram Stoker. 🍺 Guinness Storehouse Experience No visit to Dublin is complete without the Guinness Storehouse. This seven-story interactive museum showcases the history of Ireland’s most famous stout. After touring the multimedia exhibits and seeing the legendary 9,000-year lease, we enjoyed a complimentary pint at the panoramic Gravity Bar. ☕ Irish Coffee vs Baileys Coffee: Battle of the Brews We warmed up with a taste-test between two classic Irish coffees: the traditional Irish Coffee (with Jameson whiskey, cream, and sugar) and Baileys Coffee (with creamy Baileys liqueur). Our verdict? Baileys took the win for sweetness, but both are the perfect dessert-in-a-cup for chilly Dublin days. 📝 Oscar Wilde’s Park & Statue Though Oscar Wilde’s former home isn’t open to the public, we enjoyed the whimsical statue of Wilde across the street in Merrion Square Park—a must for literature fans! 🥃 Jameson Distillery Whiskey lovers, rejoice! We explored the Old Jameson Distillery for guided tours, whiskey tastings, and even a chance to browse the gift shop and dine in the on-site restaurant. 🛡️ Dublin’s Viking Heritage Sam channeled his inner Viking with a visit to a recreated Viking home, complete with historic kitchens, Viking alphabet, and even a “Viking toilet.” ⛪ Saint Patrick’s Cathedral Founded in 1191 and dedicated to Ireland’s patron saint, this magnificent cathedral is open to visitors for a small fee, offering a look at Dublin’s spiritual and architectural heart. 🖼️ National Museum of Ireland Museum time! We explored Irish heritage, art, and archaeology in this treasure trove—perfect for history buffs and curious travelers alike. 🍻 Temple Bar & Dublin’s Nightlife The Temple Bar district comes alive at night with live music, classic pubs, and a fun-loving crowd. We experienced the vibrant nightlife with friends and family! 🥃 Irish Whiskey Museum We dove into the story of Irish whiskey with a guided tour and tastings. The museum reveals how whiskey shaped Ireland’s past and present. 🏰 St. Audeon's Gate & Dublin Castle We befriended a local puppy at this medieval city gate, then toured Dublin Castle—a historic landmark that has served as a fortress, presidential site, and more. 25 Best Things to Do in Dublin 🇮🇪 | Ultimate Dublin City Guide, Food, Attractions & Local Tips Music in this video courtesy of Audio Network
