http://www.mantovanimusic.com Installed in 1929, Michael Wooldridge plays his second medley on this rare Compton Organ (can be seen on the DVD 'Mantovani Concert Spectacular'), which included a Blackpool Tower sing-a-long, I do like to be beside the seaside, Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner and 12th Street Rag. This brought back memories of when Reginald Dixon used to play the Blackpool Tower's Organ. It was October 2010 and yet another sell-out concert arranged by Paul Barrett is playing at the Pavilion in Bournemouth, Dorset UK. It's the incredible Mantovani Orchestra (UK) show which included an interlude using the Compton Organ, one of the few remaining in the country. Paul Barrett arranged for Michael Wooldridge of Worthing to play a medley which featured a walk down memory lane where the audience started to sing along to the familiar favorites. The sound from the organ was unbelievable With pipes as short as 2 inches and some as long as 32 feet, no wonder it was such an amazing sound quality, I was amazed. Barrett Films UK capture this on film and the whole piece from Michael Wooldridge can be seen here in all it's glory. This Mantovani Orchestra sounds exactly like the original Mantovani and his Orchestra so I love attending these UK shows, they're spot on, everytime.
